From working on both sides of the camera I know how important an actor’s headshot is. As an actor myself, I am aware of the trends and changes that this business goes through. I am also constantly researching and talking to agents and casting directors to find out what they are looking for in a headshot.

I have my MFA from the University of Washington’s Professional Actor Training Program (PATP) and I hold a B.F.A. in Fine Art — painting and drawing from Michigan State University. I moved to Los Angeles in ‘02.

I started shooting headshots about 6 years ago when the industry switched from black and white film to color digital in Los Angeles. While pursuing my career as an actress, I had worked as an assistant and associate in a casting office where I had the experience of looking at thousands of headshots and sitting in on incredible auditions. I still love acting and use my training to work with you during your session. Being an advocate for actors is extremely rewarding to me. I love what I do and I take my time with each individual that I meet.

It is important to me that you walk away feeling like you got the shots that you wanted, so I will take a lot of time making sure we are capturing what is unique about you and what can advance you in this business. I also think we should have a ton of fun and the session should be playful and energized. I work to make sure your shoot has lots of variety and that your eyes stay alive in the photo.

My goal is to give you a picture that you can hand to a casting director and know with confidence that you look like that picture and are representing yourself with truth. Your shoot will be unique and how we work together will be tailored to your individual level of experience.

I love to meet before a shoot and really get to know you. I am also happy to answer any questions that you can’t find answered here. I have photographed famous people and brand new actors and I always approach the session with the same open heart, respect and excitement.
